Nap time

It's been a long time since I've done something. Today I felt like picking up my pencil. This is the result. Still a bit rusty. Hmm I need a scanner or a better camera.

baby on back

Common things I see in the village: women with umbrellas carrying babies on their backs and men pushing huge bags of things on their bicycles to the market or wherever.
View of the main road that goes from NE Rwanda to Uganda.  I sat inside my house to do this because i've tried drawing outside of my house and every single time too many kids just wouldn't leave me alone. So I definitely need to practice more.

Rwanda

Banda Village, Nyungwe Forest

I wish to be free of children to roam the fields of Rwanda with my pencils and brushes but it’s been a year I have yet pass any without a child following me. So these are some drawings from 2011. It’s a lame excuse for not practicing regularly. I am sure there is a time I can get away from all and be left to my own devices. For 2012 I shall try my hardest to get some good practice while I am here in Rwanda. There will be a Rwandan mama or two in my post, you’ll see.
